The genome of a South African conspecific of Argyrosomus japonicus (dusky kob) was assembled and annotated using Illumina data from both Mate-Pair and Paired-end sequencing. Ion Torrent data was utilized for tasks such as gap closure, scaffolding, and error correction. The assembly of the draft genome employed the MaSuRCA software, while annotation was performed with Braker2 using a combination of homology-based and de novo approaches.
