Stellenbosch, South Africa
Dr Dominic Ayegba Okoliko is an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in environmental communication, environmental governance, and public engagement, with a regional focus on Africa. Trained in public and development management, political science, international relations, and philosophy, his work explores how climate change, sustainability, scientific knowledge, and innovations are communicated, interpreted, and contested in society. He draws on qualitative and mixed methods—including media analysis, stakeholder interviews, and policy evaluation—to understand the role of communication in shaping public attitudes and institutional accountability. Dominic has published widely on climate communication and African epistemologies and currently serves as Associate and Review Editor for Environmental Communication. Beyond academia, he actively engages with civil society, the media, and students to advance inclusive and evidence-based approaches to environmental decision-making.
